Cheney's Plamegate

The Israeli source also reported that there are warnings coming from Washington about a possible series of major terrorist attacks on the United States around Thanksgiving.

In July, former CIA analyst Philip Giraldi had written in The American Conservative that Vice President Cheney had ordered the Strategic Command (STRATCOM) to prepare war plans against Iran, involving a large number of air strikes, possibly using mini-nuclear weapons to take out alleged hardened nuclear weapons research facilities. According to the Giraldi story, which was subsequently confirmed by scores of top U.S. military and Congressional sources, the trigger for a Cheney-ordered strike on Iran would be a "911-type" terrorist attack on the continental United States.

One factor driving the Vice President to push new chaos operations in the Persian Gulf is the growing expectation that Independent Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald is close to handing down indictments in the Valerie Plame leak probe.

Do I detect a "wag the dog effect" in the planning stages? Remember Clinton's diversion to Serbian war crimes and the subsequent bombing and deployment to Kosovo immediately after the Lewinsky scandal, impeachment and his near removal from office.

Bill Clinton epitomized the concept of "wag the dog."

The Clintons played each scandal like a volleyball, deflecting one scandal after another by contrived news events and even wars.

Bill Clinton's 1999 war over Kosovo was perhaps the most egregious use of presidential power to divert the public's attention and save a presidency.

Remember, when Clinton began the war he had just come out of the Lewinsky scandal, impeachment and near removal from office.

And yet the scandal was still top news on the TV shows. Worse, Kathleen Willey had come forward to say that Clinton made crude sexual advances toward her, right in the Oval Office.

Then in early 1999, still another woman, Juanita Broaddrick, also a one-time campaign supporter, claimed Clinton had raped her. Only days after her story aired on NBC, NATO's first war began against Serbia. Coincidence?

At the time, there was a lot of media hocus-pocus about Serbian war crimes in Kosovo, practically none of which turned out to be true, but it was enough to save Bill Clinton – again.(Italics mine)

George W did it with Iraq. Will Dick do it with Iran?

Beware of the politician under fire. It could cost more American lives abroad and our freedom at home.

"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the the beginning of birth pains. Matthew 24:6-8 NIV.(Italics mine) Are you prepared?
